New & Returning Elected Officials Seminar (NREO) December 7-8
*Registration for NREO includes the Alaska Conference of Mayors.
Beginner Session: a crash course on conducting meetings, budgets and financial reports, and regulations such as Alaska’s Open Meeting Act, Title 29, and parliamentary procedure. Highly recommended for anyone new to local government or in need of a refresher.
Intermediate Session (New): a review and deeper dive for returning officials.
Alaska Conference of Mayors (ACoM) December 8
An opportunity for Alaska’s mayors to discuss common concerns and collaborate on municipal solutions.
*Included in the New & Returning Elected Officials Seminar—you do not need to register for ACoM separately if you are attending NREO.
Mayors are encouraged to attend both days but may choose to register separately for ACoM.
AML Annual Local Government Conference December 9-11
AML’s annual conference is a chance for elected officials and municipal leaders from across the state to collaborate with peers and learn from local, state, and federal officials in plenary and concurrent sessions. This event is hosted at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage.
Registration Details
- Register up to 7 attendees at a time.
- Registration must be paid in full before the registration window closes to receive that rate.
- Registration changes or cancellations must be made in writing by Friday, November 13, 2026.
- Refunds (including weather-related cancellations and no-show) cannot be provided after November 13.

Group Discount: Purchase 6 Annual Conference registrations, get the 7th registration free!
- Register 7 conference attendees at once to qualify for one free member rate registration ($375 discount from the cart total). The discount is automatically applied when you add 7 registrations to the cart.
- If you want to use the group discount but are unsure who will be attending, register as “TBD” in the name field, and email sarahk@akml.org with registrant names by Friday, November 13th.
