Alaska Planning Conference | December 7-8, 2026
Join planners, community leaders, Tribal representatives, consultants, and public officials from across Alaska for the 2026 Alaska Planning Conference at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage. Held immediately before the Alaska Municipal League Annual Local Government Conference, it’s an opportunity to participate in both events during a single trip.
This year’s theme, Together Again: Moving Forward Stronger, celebrates Alaska’s planning community and the opportunity to reconnect, share ideas, and explore practical solutions to the issues shaping communities across the state. Attendees can expect keynote speakers, educational sessions, networking opportunities, and the opportunity to earn AICP Certification Maintenance (CM) credits.
Session topics will reflect many of the issues shaping Alaska communities today, including:
- Creating housing solutions that work for Alaska
- Preparing communities for climate impacts and natural hazards
- Partnering with Tribes to build stronger, more inclusive communities
- Navigating today’s planning, legal, and ethical challenges
- Using AI and emerging technologies to improve planning and public engagement
- Growing local economies while preserving community character
Whether you work in local government, Tribal organizations, state or federal agencies, consulting, nonprofits, or the private sector, you’ll leave with new ideas, valuable connections, and practical tools to bring back to your community. We look forward to seeing everyone in Anchorage this December!
Preliminary Schedule:
- Monday, December 7 – 8:30am to 4:30pm with evening event
